The Eastern Counties Tai Chi Academy has no connection with any other Tai Chi group or religion
Objectives:
- To facilitate and encourage people to learn more about Tai Chi and the related arts as taught by Mr Moy Lin Shin
- To enable adults of all ages and from all walks of life to enjoy the benefits of Tai Chi and related arts
- To train volunteer instructors to teach Tai Chi and related arts, ensuring the aims and objectives of Mr Moy Lin Shin are continued
- To provide a better understanding of Tai Chi and related arts and its benefits to partners in traditional health and social care agencies where required
Membership:
Membership of the classes is open to all adults, beginners and those with experience of Tai Chi and related arts and does not require election or interview.
A disclaimer by students must be signed disclosing any medical conditions etc.
Fees and class membership are at the discretion of the individual instructor
Instructor Membership:
Any instructor wishing to teach must have a sound foundation and understanding of the Tai Chi form and the principles in which it is taught by Mr Moy Lin Shin.
Instructors are encouraged to operate classes as individual entities
Assistant instructors are not, as individuals, expected to operate their own classes.
Classes operate on a non-profit basis and at the discretion of the individual instructor.
Instructors should show a willingness to improve by attending other classes/workshops organised by accredited members.
New classes should be advertised as Beginners Classes using the ECTCA poster
List of accredited instructors and classes to be noted as an appendix to this constitution and updated annually
Responsibility for ECTCA:
The overall responsibility for the ECTCA lies with the elected officers and the committee who will be drawn solely from the ECTCA membership
The elected officers of the ECTCA are Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretary.
It is agreed that the ECTCA shall be responsible for organising and overseeing intensives and workshops of Tai Chi and related arts outside of normal classes
The ECTCA will be responsible for the accreditation of instructors.
ECTCA will provide support for instructors both in an administrative and advisory role maintaining the principles of Mr Moy Lin Shin
In the event of any dissolution of the ECTCA, any residual funds are to be donated to a charity nominated by the elected officers and the committee.
